I recently saw a demonstration on the synchronous nature of vibration; where if you have two tuning forks that are both tuned to the same vibrational frequency, place them side by side and hit only one, then soon after the inactive one will begin to vibrate as well. The reason being that because they both were attuned to identical frequencies, the resultant emanation of the first drew out the same vibration in the second. In essence, attracting the same vibration from outside itself.
When one talks about Reiki, it is often the intention of the session for the “Reiki wave” to lift up any of the obstacles we carry with us and wash them away – restoring the flow of the life supporting energy that connects all things in the process. However, I also find my personal experience of the energy we call Reiki, as well as that of many others with whom I have worked, is that receiving a Reiki treatment is akin to receiving unconditional love, suggesting that the vibration of this highest degree of love is what brings about enhanced states of well-being for you and me.
And so what is to be learned from the tuning fork as it applies to the Reiki frequency? Well, for one thing when one becomes a Reiki practitioner, the ritual attunement allows us to readily tune our radio dial to this frequency. We are embarking on a path that makes the vibration of unconditional love more readily available to us, and in turn more available for those around us. This is evident considering that the most often reason one becomes a Reiki practitioner is to be able to give Reiki treatments to others.
But perhaps the not so obvious result of continuing on the path towards becoming a Reiki Master is that with each attunement we undergo, the closer and closer the totality of our vibrational frequencies resonate the vibration of unconditional love. Hence we more strongly emanate this frequency throughout our lives simply by going about our day. And, just as with the tuning fork, we are stimulating that same frequency that exists in those who are around us. This is because we are all extensions of unconditional love. Even if we are unable to access this due of any of the challenges to our physical, emotional or spiritual well-being we might currently be experiencing, that frequency remains imprinted in our being.
And so it is with Reiki and the opportunity it provides us to greatly affect the quantum fields of the circles we move through. As our consciousness and behavior now translate into thoughts and actions that convey a healthy, loving intent we can affirm our communities as ones which are overflowing with empathy, compassion and support for one another.
